A little bit of historyOnward and Outward began trading the same year as Foot and Mouth disease was hitting the headlines (a worrying start!). We felt that our aim of offering quality outdoor camping, climbing and walking equipment, coupled with extensive hands on knowledge, provided us with a niche that the big multiples seemed not to provide. Our attitude is that as long as we can provide the customer with friendly and professional advice on any aspect of the outdoors we feel as though we have achieved our aim. | ||

The shopThe shop is a small, independent retailer in the lovely market town of Clitheroe, situated in the Ribble Valley, on the border of the Yorkshire Dales and 1.5 hours from the fantastic terrain of the Lake district. Onward and Outward has been in existence for over six years and is co-owned by man and wife team Chris and Cheryl (see meet the team above). We employ three members of staff as well as ourselves, of which Mike and Iain are on the shop floor (see meet the team above). We have recently extended our shop floorspace to include a comprehensive camping area, providing even more of a knowledge base for our customers and providing a much better service. | ||
