|  About Onward & OutwardOnward and Outward began trading the same year as Foot and Mouth disease was hitting the headlines (a worrying start!).
We felt that our aim of offering quality outdoor camping, climbing and walking equipment, coupled with extensive hands on knowledge, provided us with a niche that the big multiples seemed not to provide.
Our attitude is that as long as we can provide the customer with friendly and professional advice on any aspect of the outdoors we feel as though we have achieved our aim.

In our opinion we only offer the best kit to suit our customers' specific needs. We feel satisfied if our customers leave the shop with a "feel good factor" and have purchased an item that will serve them well and do what they originally want it to do - and sometimes more.
The shop
The shop is a small, independent retailer in the lovely market town of Clitheroe, situated in the Ribble Valley, on the border of the Yorkshire Dales and 1.5 hours from the fantastic terrain of the Lake District.
Onward and Outward has been in existence for over seven years and is co-owned by husband and wife team Mark and Claire Edlington-Booth.
