The Kongur is Mountain Equipment's top of the line heavy duty general mountaineering jacket.
The longer, generous cut means there is plenty of room to fit insulating layers inside the jacket for harsh Scottish winter conditions, while the 3 Layer Pro Shell fabric helps keep the weight down so you won't feel over dressed for less intensive adventures.
All exposed zips on the Kongur jacket are protected with generous storm flaps, and Mountain Equipment's excellent hood design means that the hood will move naturally with your head whilst providing first rate protection from the worst of weather conditions.
The Kongur jacket has plenty of pockets for storing maps, guide books, snacks and anything else. Just remember that with all jackets, "waterproof pockets" means that any water that gets into the pocket won't get through to your insulating layers, not that your phone will be safe in the map pocket while the rain is coming at you horizontally. Fortunately, Mountain Equipment's design team have thought of that, and have provided a zipped mesh pocket safely protected on the inner surface of the jacket, to keep any sensitive gadgets safe from the elements.
